It's congratulations to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner who has been given a lifetime achievement award at the Los Angeles Press Club’s fourth annual National Entertainment Journalism Awards Gala. The legendary 85-year-old was presented with the honour last Thursday in California.
Press Club President Will Lewis heaped praise on the Playboy editor-in-chief, insisting, “Hefner’s footprint on American popular culture is huge. For almost 60 years, Playboy has been on the leading edge in shaping positive attitudes on civil rights, gay rights, as well as human sexuality.”
In related news, the Hef touched on the upcoming January/ February 2012 edition of the magazine which will feature Lindsay Lohan in the buff.
"The pictorial is absolutely fantastic and very tasteful, and will be accompanied by an interview that will let readers see another side of Lindsay." Hugh Hefner seconds that, telling The Insider that the spread has a retro theme. "It's a classic tribute inspired by the original Tom Kelly nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe, a portion of which was the original playmate in the very first issue of Playboy." Does she bare all? "Oh yes," Hef tells The Insider. "And classy, very classy."

Detectives are not blaming actor Robert Wagner for the death of Hollywood actress Natalie Wood after an investigation into her death 30 years ago has been reopened. The actress, who was married to Wagner, drowned in an accident back in 1981. The Telegraph reports:
The West Side Story star's death had been recorded as an accident but the captain of the yacht on which she was sailing has now come forward claiming he "lied" to detectives who were investigating the incident.
Dennis Davern, who was on-board the Splendour with Wood, her husband Robert Wagner and fellow actor Christopher Walken when the actress drowned on Thanksgiving weekend thirty years ago, told an US television channel that he blamed Wagner for her death.

Wayne Rooney has lost his appeal against the two match ban that he was issued with following swearing at a camera during a match againstWest Ham United at the weekend. He will now miss this weekend's match against Fulham in the Premiership, and the F.A. Cup Semi-Final against rivals Manchester City. This is his response.
"Whatever, I have to accept that what's happened has happened and move on from here. That is what I intend to do."
A statement from the FA said:
"A Regulatory Commission has suspended Manchester United's Wayne Rooney for two matches. Rooney had admitted a charge for the use of offensive, insulting and/or abusive language, but claimed that the automatic penalty of two games was clearly excessive. The Commission did not accept the claim and Rooney will begin the standard two-match suspension with immediate effect."
